PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Chris has been a speech language pathologist and a teacher of the deaf for over 30 years.  As the Director of Admissions and Evaluations, she is a member of our educational evaluation team which provides evaluations for families who wish to assess their child's skills and want help in making appropriate decisions regarding their child's educational placement.  Chris is able to connect with each and every child in our school program and is adept in counseling families of young deaf children regarding their child's skills.  She works with our parents to help them understand their child's strengths and weakness and help families prepare the most advantageous education for their child.  Her approach is to work closely with each family to help them plan an educational path that is appropriate to meet the needs of their child.  Chris is an instructor in the Master Science in Deaf Education Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences at Washington University School of Medicine.  She teaches Speech for the Hearing Impaired Child with Karen Stein and Evaluation Techniques for the Hearing and Language Impaired with Karen Kupper.
