Developing Vocabulary in Very Young Children

A child’s single-word vocabulary impacts the ability to express his/her wants and needs. For children to develop adequate language skills, they must have sufficient vocabulary. The focus of this presentation will be on the importance of the acquisition of single-word vocabulary for language development. Strategies and techniques for helping families help their children   develop single-word vocabulary will be reviewed and explained.
