Our Moog School Staff includes 13 full-time teachers of the deaf, 2 full-time preschool teachers, and 2 speech-language pathologists. Additionally, we have 2 full-time coordinators who supervise the school staff. In the school, we have a teacher-pupil ratio of about 1 to 3 and in the Family School Toddler Program the ratio is 1 to 2. We have three pediatric audiologists who have been certified by ASHA and AAA, and three of them are Board Certified in Audiology, two of whom with a specialty in Cochlear Implants.
Thirteen of our faculty have attained, through the AG Bell Academy, the certification of A Listening and Spoken Language Specialist in Auditory Verbal Education (LSLS Cert. AVEd.). Four of our staff are faculty for the Washington University School of Medicine program in Audiology and Communication Sciences.
The staff at the Moog Center has taken a leadership role in oral deaf education. We provide training to other teachers, serving as invited speakers to workshops and in-service programs throughout the country. Our teaching staff has the know-how, dedication, experience, and energy to make a significant difference for the children we teach. Our pediatric audiologists are especially talented in working with infants and toddlers. They are skilled in programming and fitting cochlear implants, hearing aids, and FM/DM Systems. Four of our staff are faculty for the Washington University School of Medicine program in Audiology and Communication Sciences.
