Working with Families: Part 1
February 6, 2024 (Tuesday)

Professionals have been providing support to parents of children who are deaf or hard of hearing for decades. The manner in which professionals have provided this support has changed over the years and varies from professional to professional. Using a theoretical framework that includes adult learning principles has proven to be an effective means of engaging parents. This presentation will provide participants with information about adult learners and the parent’s perspective. Video interviews with parents will provide the learners with evidence about the importance of developing trust, respect, and rapport.
